How to change your plan or cancel
See what you are on
Billing in the sidebar shows your plan, its status, and what is left this month: actions (a post counts once, however many networks it goes to), pages or articles, included videos and your AI budget.
Change plan
- Go to Billing.
- Select Change plan.
- Pick the plan you want and confirm.
Plan changes happen on this page. Payment method and invoices opens your Stripe billing page, which is for your card, your receipts and canceling, not for switching plans.
Moving up
Moving up happens right away, and it starts a new billing month the day you do it:
- A full month of the new plan is charged that day. It is the whole invoice, not a part-month amount, and you see it before you confirm.
- What is left of the plan you are leaving is credited on the same invoice. You do not pay twice for the same days.
- Your billing date moves to that day, and your next bill falls one month later.
- Your bigger allowance counts what you have already used this month. If you used 12 actions on Launch and move to Operator, you are at 12 of 40, not at 0 of 40. The same goes for pages or articles and included videos. An upgrade gives you a bigger month, not a second one.
If you pay yearly it works the same way with years: a full year of the new plan is charged that day, what is left of your current year is credited on the same invoice, and your next bill falls one year later.
Your new plan starts working for you the moment you confirm.
During your $1 first week, picking a plan works differently: see The first week for $1.
Moving down
Moving down takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep everything your current plan gives you until then, and nothing is charged that day. Your plan switches on your next billing date.
Pack actions you already bought stay with you either way.
Switching to yearly billing
Every plan can be billed yearly, which is two months free: Launch $390 (save $78), Operator $690 (save $138) and Scale $1,290 (save $258); White label has a yearly price too (see What each plan includes). Select Go annual on your Home, on Billing or in chat, while your plan is running, also during the $1 first week. The year is charged the moment you confirm, and your billing year starts that day:
- During the $1 first week, the week ends with the switch. Nothing of the $1 is credited back.
- On monthly billing, what is left of the month you already paid for is credited on the same invoice.
On Launch, Operator and Scale, going annual also brings one month of your plan’s actions, once: 20 on Launch, 40 on Operator and 80 on Scale, for each business you pay for, and no videos. They are added 14 days after the charge, on the date shown when you confirm, as long as you are still on yearly billing and have not withdrawn. Your price is also locked for two years.
Going annual with its payment confirmed between Monday, October 12, 2026, 12:01 AM PT and Sunday, October 18, 2026, 11:59 PM PT is Founder Annual: today’s price locked for life while you stay subscribed, plus two bonus months of actions in total, the one above included, on the same day. See Founder Annual (launch week).
If your card is declined, nothing changes.
Start your month now
During the $1 first week, Start my month now on your Home, on Billing or in chat ends the week at once. Your plan’s monthly price is charged that day, and your first month starts right then, with its full allowance (see If you subscribe from the EU or the UK for an account that has not asked us to start right away). Use it when the week’s 5 finished things or its AI budget are used and you do not want to wait for day 8.
If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, you are sent to do that first. If your card is declined, nothing changes.
Add or remove a business
On Operator and Scale you can run up to five businesses on one account. Open Billing, and in the Businesses panel select Add a business: each one bills one more unit of your plan price and adds its own actions, pages or articles, included videos and AI budget once you build it. Adding one starts a new billing month (or year) that day, so a full term for every business is charged then, what is left of the term you are cutting short is credited on the same invoice, and your billing date moves to that day. To stop paying for one, delete the business first from Your website, then remove it. See Add another business for the full walk-through and prices.
Run out of actions before the month ends
You do not stop working: settings, plugins, maintenance and fixes never use actions, and a page or post you approve while you are out is kept and made as soon as actions come back. On Billing, under Need more actions, you can buy a prepaid pack of extra actions for $10: 4 actions on Launch, 5 on Operator, 6 on Scale and White label, and every pack also adds room for one more page or article. A pack lasts twelve months, and its unused actions carry over until then. You can buy up to 3 packs a month for each business you run. See What each plan includes.
A pack is there to finish the month, not to replace the plan above it. On Launch, three packs bring your month to $69 for 32 actions; Operator is $69 for 40 actions, 6 pages or articles and 2 AI videos. On Operator, three packs bring your month to $99 for 55 actions; Scale is $129 for 80 actions, 12 pages or articles and 4 AI videos. So if you need the actions every month, moving up is the better deal, and Billing shows it when you are about to buy a third pack.
Use a promotion code
If you have a promotion code, enter it on Stripe’s payment page when you start your plan or the $1 first week: select Add promotion code there. The page shows the discounted amount before you pay. A code made for domains is entered on the domain payment page. Codes do not apply to yearly billing, the Minimum plan, action packs, contact blocks, video lines or domain renewals, and a plan code does not apply to a domain payment.
A promotion on monthly billing ends when you switch to yearly billing: the yearly price is charged in full. A first month bought with a discount does not get the day-8 extra video.
A yearly plan started before our current prices that was fully discounted does not include a domain; see How to get your own domain.
Before you cancel
Selecting Cancel subscription on Billing first offers you ways to keep your business:
- Take a month off. Collection stops, you are not charged for that month, and your operators pause with it. Everything already published stays live. The pause is not offered during the $1 first week or on an annual plan, and you can take one pause every twelve months.
- Move to the Minimum plan, where it is offered: $19 a month. Your site and store stay live on standard hosting, with 5 actions a month (about 1 post a week on every network you connect), 20 Quick chat replies and your weekly snapshot report. It has no pages or articles and no included video, and the team acts when you ask. It starts at the end of the period you already paid for, so nothing is charged that day. See The Minimum plan.
The Minimum is also offered if you decide not to continue after your $1 first week (it then starts on day 8, at $19), and if you leave the checkout page without paying (it then starts at once, at $19, without a $1 week). It is never on the plan list, and it is not offered on White label.
Cancel
- Go to Billing.
- Select Cancel subscription, then Cancel subscription again to confirm.
Your operators stop working at the end of the period you have already paid for. What stops is the team: no more posts written, published, or planned.
Your site runs on standard WordPress, and your content, products and customers are yours to export or move at any time. A site you connected yourself stays exactly where it is. A site we host stays live for 14 days after your plan ends, so a change of mind keeps it. After that we take a final backup, keep it for 90 days so you can come back to it, and take the site down.
The first week for $1
If you started on the $1 first week, that is a real subscription at a reduced first week, not a free trial. It becomes your normal plan price on day 8 unless you cancel first. Cancel from the same Billing page.
The $1 first week is one time only: one per person and per business in any 12 months. If you cancel and come back within 12 months, your plan starts at its full price from the first day, and the plan page and the checkout tell you so before you pay.
During the week, a plan you pick under Change plan, bigger or smaller, starts on day 8, when the week ends, and nothing more is charged before then. Two changes charge right away: Start my month now charges the month and starts it, and Go annual charges the year and starts it. See Start your month now and Switching to yearly billing.
If you cancel during the week, a site we host comes down on day 8, with a final backup kept for 90 days, and pages waiting for day 8 are never published. What the week includes: The $1 first week.
Refunds and your right to withdraw
If you are a consumer in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or the United Kingdom, you have 14 days to withdraw from the subscription, counted from the day you subscribe. That is the day you buy the $1 first week, not the day the first full charge lands.
Because the team starts working for you straight away, you are asked to agree to that immediate start, with a box you tick where you enter your email to sign up and again on the checkout page:
I ask WPMaven to start right away. Work already delivered to me, such as videos, pages and posts, is kept from any refund if I withdraw.
The box is never ticked for you, and you cannot continue without it. With it, your plan starts in full at once: your whole month opens on the first day, and your included videos are made without waiting for the 14 days (after the $1 first week, from day 8). If you withdraw, the work already delivered to you is yours to keep and is kept from the refund; the rest is refunded. This is Directive 2011/83/EU as written into the Luxembourg consumer code, and section 5.4 of the Terms of Service says how the refund is worked out.
An account from before this box existed that has not ticked it since keeps the earlier rule: the first month opens a little each day until the 14 days end, included videos wait until then, and a withdrawal pays only for the time used; see If you subscribe from the EU or the UK.
To withdraw while your 14 days are running:
- Go to Billing and select Cancel subscription.
- Select Withdraw, read what it does, and confirm.
Withdrawing ends your subscription at once: your team stops, nothing more is made or published, and a site we host is taken down, with a final backup kept for 90 days. You see an estimate of your refund and the message: “Our team confirms your refund within 2 business days.” You can also write to us instead. No refund is issued automatically, and no button issues one: a person on the team reads the request and confirms it.
We do not advertise a money-back guarantee beyond that right.
Four things are not refundable, and each says so before you pay:
- Prepaid action packs and contact blocks. A pack lasts twelve months, and both are kept, paused, if you cancel and come back later.
- A renewal that has already been charged. Cancel any time and the next one does not happen.
- The amount for the first year of a domain registered for you. The domain is yours from registration, so the part your plan covered is kept from that year’s plan payment, any difference you paid is not refunded, and the rest is refunded. See Refunds and your domain.
- Nothing for failed work, because failed work never uses an action in the first place, and a video that does not pass our checks is never charged.
To ask about any other refund, write to us. A person on the team reads the request and confirms it.
