How to add another business
Your account starts with one business. On Operator and Scale you can run up to five, and you add them yourself from Billing. Each business is a quantity on your plan.
What an added business costs
Adding a business starts a new billing month the day you add it. Three things happen together:
- A full month for every business you have is charged that day. Going from one Operator business to two is charged as two full months, $138.
- What is left of the month you are cutting short is credited on the same invoice, so you never pay twice for days you had already paid for.
- Your billing date moves to that day. From then on your plan bills the new total once a month, and your next bill falls one month later.
It is not a small part-month charge any more. The exact amount due that day is the whole invoice, and you see it before you confirm.
- On Operator, another business is $69 a month and adds 40 more actions, 6 more pages or articles, 2 more included videos and $3.80 more AI budget each month.
- On Scale, another business is $129 a month and adds 80 more actions, 12 more pages or articles, 4 more included videos and $3.80 more AI budget each month.
If you pay yearly it works the same way with years: a full year for every business is charged that day, what is left of the year you are cutting short is credited on the same invoice, and your next bill falls one year later ($690 a year per business on Operator, $1,290 on Scale).
Everything a business adds joins one shared pool, which any of your businesses can draw on. Your first business is always included, and action packs can be bought up to 3 a month for each business you run.
You cannot add a business during your $1 first week. The option appears once that week converts to your plan.
Its allowances arrive when you build it
A business you pay for adds its actions, pages or articles, included videos and AI budget to your shared monthly pool once the business exists on your account. A business you have paid for but never built adds nothing: no actions, no videos, no operator work, no reports. So build it as soon as you add it, which is where WPMaven sends you the moment the payment goes through.
For the same reason, you cannot buy another business while one you already pay for is still unbuilt. WPMaven answers you with the count:
You already pay for 2 businesses and only one is built. Build that one first, then add another.
Build the one you are paying for and the option comes back.
How to add one
- Open Billing from the sidebar.
- In the Businesses panel, select Add a business. You see the amount charged that day, the price your plan bills from then on, and the fact that your billing date moves to that day, all before anything is charged.
- Confirm. The payment is taken and you land straight in the build screens for the new business.
- Build it. Its allowances join your pool as soon as the business exists.
You can also add a business at the moment you start building a second one: if you reach the build screen without a business free, the same Add a business option appears there.
Removing a business
Delete the business first from Your websites (disconnecting a site we host takes it down for good), then select Remove a business in the Businesses panel on Billing. The button appears as soon as you are paying for a business you have not built. You cannot drop below the number of businesses you are actually running.
The removed business is credited toward your next invoice as long as its actions are still unspent this month. If your businesses already used more actions this month than the remaining ones include, there is no credit for this month: on monthly billing the price simply drops from your next invoice, and on yearly billing the months after this one are still credited. Adding a business and removing it again does not hand you back actions you have already spent.
If your paid business count ever drops below the businesses you run (for example after a plan change), the newest businesses beyond the count are paused until you add a business back or delete them. A paused business gets no operator work, no reports and spends no actions.
More than five
For more than five businesses under one bill, the White label plan is the step up: eight client businesses, your own brand and one invoice, for $369 a month or $3,690 a year. Its allowances are shared across your clients: 240 actions (30 for each client), up to 5 pages or articles for each client, and 12 included videos. Contact us and we will move you to it. Launch and the Minimum run a single business; move to Operator or Scale to run more than one.
Beyond eight on White label, you add each extra client site yourself, under Billing, with Add a client site, at $25 a month, or $250 a year (save $50, get 2 months free), up to 25 client businesses; past that, our team works the numbers with you. It does not reprice the eight. Build the client businesses your plan already runs first. Adding one starts a new full month, or year, of your plan and its sites that day, with the unused part of the current one credited, and your billing date moves to that day. An extra client site has no actions, pages or videos of its own: it draws on the shared pool, and adds $3.15 to the AI budget. Billing shows “N of M client businesses running”: how many run, out of how many your plan covers.
On WhatsApp
Your WhatsApp number talks about one business at a time: the first one you built, unless you say otherwise. Reply businesses to see the list, and switch 2 (or switch followed by the name) to change the one your team works on from that chat. Approval requests name the business they are for.
