How to connect your social accounts
Your operators can write posts straight away, but they cannot publish anywhere until you connect an account you own.
Connect a channel
- Go to Your team in the sidebar.
- Open the Connect tab.
- Find the channel you want and select Connect. If you cannot select Connect on a channel yet, the reason is written next to it.
- Sign in to that network in the window that opens and allow the access it asks for.
You come back to the same tab, and the channel now says Live.
You only need one channel to start. Pick the one you post from most, as long as its row below does not say the network is still reviewing WPMaven or has not approved it.
If you do not have an account yet
WPMaven cannot create social accounts for you. No network allows any tool to do that. Under each channel there is a Create one link that takes you to that network’s own sign-up. Make the account first, then come back and connect it.
What each channel needs
Some networks put conditions on business tools like WPMaven. These are their rules, not ours.
| Channel | What to know before you connect |
|---|---|
| Facebook Page | Meta is still reviewing WPMaven. Until it approves, only accounts we invite can connect. You must be an admin of the Page. A brand new Page cannot be connected for its first seven days. |
| Meta is still reviewing WPMaven. Until it approves, only accounts we invite can connect. Must be a professional account, linked to your Facebook Page. | |
| X (Twitter) | Connects directly. Posts to X go out without a link. Add your site link to your X bio so people can find you. |
| Posts go to your personal feed, not to a company page. | |
| TikTok | Until TikTok approves WPMaven, posts stay private to your account, and the account itself must be set to private. |
| YouTube | Connects directly. |
| You can connect it, but no pin goes out until Pinterest approves WPMaven. | |
| Google Business Profile | Not open yet. Google has not approved WPMaven for Business Profile. We will tell you as soon as it does. |
A channel marked Not open yet, or waiting on a network’s approval, opens as soon as that network approves WPMaven. We will tell you when it does. Connect the ones you can and add the rest later.
During the $1 first week
An account already used for a $1 first week in the last 12 months cannot be connected during the $1 first week. The channel says: “This account was already used for a $1 first week in the last 12 months, and the $1 first week is one time only. Start your month now to connect it.” Start my month now is right there: it charges your plan’s monthly price, starts your first month, and the account can then be connected.
