The two routes
| Revenue share | Wholesale | |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays whom | Your customer pays us; we pay you 20%; you pay us nothing | You pay us per paying site; your customer pays you |
| Price | Our price list: $1 for the first week, one time only, then $39, $69 or $129 a month | Yours, above our own retail price |
| Billing, refunds, support | We handle them | You handle them, and we back your team up |
| Your name | Your customers come to us through your link | Your name is the one on the dashboard |
| Best for | Starting: nothing to pay while you find out whether your customers want it | Later, once your own numbers show the demand |
We suggest starting on revenue share. You can start on one and switch.
Where it goes in your panel
One entry point, where your customers already go to start a site. There are two ways in, and your customer can take either:
A new business, built in a minute
Your build link opens the free build directly, and the business it builds is hosted by us, with SSL, daily backups and updates:
https://dashboard.wpmaven.ai/create?ref=YOUR-CODE&pref=YOUR-CUSTOMER-ID
Put your own customer number after pref=, and that number is what you see next to the customer on your Partner program page.
A WordPress site on your servers
Installs with WordPress from cPanel and Plesk (WP Toolkit), Softaculous and Installatron, with your partner code built in. Add your plugin package, the WPMaven plugin with your code in it, to the WordPress your panel installs, and every customer who creates their WPMaven account from that site counts for you. The steps for each panel are in How to install WPMaven from your hosting panel: they follow each panel's own documentation, so try yours on a test account first.
A customer who already runs WordPress on your hosting can also sign up through your link, then connect the site from their WPMaven dashboard, under "Connect a website you already have". Either way the site stays on your servers, and your backup, migration and monitoring tools keep working on it.
Good places for the button
- next to the site builder or the one-click WordPress install;
- in the welcome email of a new WordPress plan;
- after a domain is bought, where the customer wonders what to put on it;
- in your help center article about starting a site.
A name that works: "Build my business with AI", with a line under it such as "Describe your business. An AI team builds it, free." Banners in four sizes are in the kit.
We do the integration with you. On your side it is a placement in the panel and an agreed way to identify your customers, so the share is attributed correctly. Your named contact is the technical contact while you build it.
A first rollout
- Start small: one brand, one region or one plan tier. You do not have to put it in front of your whole base on day one.
- Watch your Partner program page: the customers you brought, the ones paying now, and every payment with its figures.
- Talk to us after the first month about what your customers built, what they asked, and where to show the button next.
The launch to your customers
- An email to the customers of the first rollout: the launch email, with your link.
- A banner in the panel and on your site, from the kit.
- A post on your social channels, from the social posts.
- The one-pager, with your link printed on it, for your sales team and your shop counter: open the one-pager with
?ref=YOUR-CODEat the end of its address, then print it.
Who answers what
On revenue share, we carry the customer: sign-up, payment, questions and cancellations, so nothing about it should reach your queue. Your support team only needs to know where to send them (below).
On wholesale, the customer is yours and writes to you; your named contact and your shared Slack channel back your team up.
Everything is standard WordPress, whether we host it or it runs on your servers.
Your money
- 20% of what we collect from your customers: the price they pay, less sales tax or VAT and card fees, every month for as long as they stay subscribed, starting with their $1 week.
- The arithmetic, once: a customer in the United States on $69 a month works out to $13.34 for you. It is the calculation for one payment, not a forecast: what you earn depends on how many of your customers subscribe.
- Every payment is itemized on your Partner program page: what was paid, the tax, the card fees, the base and your share.
- Each month closes on the 1st. We send the payout by bank transfer and mark it paid, with the reference. You never invoice us.
- Refunds and chargebacks take back the same part of the share, from the month they happen. After a payout, it comes off the next one; you are never invoiced for it.
Moving to wholesale
When you would rather own the brand and the billing: you buy sites at wholesale, set your own price above ours, and bill your customers yourself. The fee is per paying site, charged only on sites a customer is actually paying for, never on free builds, and priced by volume against your numbers. Talk to us about wholesale.
For your support team
"What is this WPMaven button?"
A team of AI operators that builds a business from a description, free to try, and runs it every week if the customer subscribes.
"I have a question about my WPMaven bill."
On revenue share: WPMaven handles it. The customer writes to support@wpmaven.ai or uses the chat in their WPMaven dashboard.
"Does it work with my hosting plan?"
A new business from the button is hosted by WPMaven. WordPress installed from our panel comes with WPMaven, and a WordPress site the customer already runs with us can be connected from their WPMaven dashboard: those sites stay on our servers, where our usual WordPress support covers the hosting.
"How do I cancel?"
From the WPMaven dashboard, at any time. On revenue share, our team handles it.
Never promise
What a customer's business will earn, a place in search or AI answers, or a refund on the spot: refunds are confirmed by our team. The full list is lesson 7.
