About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer at WPMaven, you'll develop, train, and optimize machine learning models that understand WordPress structures, generate code, and automate complex tasks. You'll work at the intersection of ML research and production engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement machine learning models for WordPress-specific tasks including code generation, content understanding, and task automation.
• Fine-tune large language models (LLMs) for improved performance on WordPress-related queries.
• Develop data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and processing training data.
• Implement evaluation frameworks to measure model quality and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand user needs and translate them into ML solutions.
• Optimize models for production deployment, balancing accuracy with latency and cost.
• Stay current with ML research and identify techniques applicable to our domain.
• Document models, experiments, and findings for team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Experience

• 3+ years of experience building and deploying ML models.
• Experience with NLP and/or code generation tasks.
• Track record of taking ML projects from research to production.

Technical Skills

• Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch preferred).
• Experience with transformer architectures and fine-tuning LLMs.
• Familiarity with ML experiment tracking and model versioning.
• Understanding of ML evaluation metrics and A/B testing.
• Experience with distributed training and GPU optimization.

Nice to Have

• Experience with code generation or code understanding models.
• Publications in relevant ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, etc.).
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• WordPress development experience.
